Cameri airport is the central site of 1° RMV (Reparto Manutenzione Velivoli, which stands for Aircrafts Maintenance Department) and takes care of the maintenance for the Panavia Tornados and Eurofighters Typhoons. The airport is also used as a support base to try out Augusta helicopters and for the realization of Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II, built by various societies among which Alenia Aermacchi and Mecaer Aviation Group.
