The executive project of new hospital, dedicated to Pope Giovanni XXIII of Bergamo, is the result of a long and difficult projecting path that was started in July 2000 with the international competitor. The site was directed by Parisian architect Aymeric Zublena, the same who was at the basis of Saint Denis stadium and Pompidou Hospital in Paris. The building has 7 towers with 5 floors each, each one connected with a unique central plate. The new hospital has 36 operating rooms, 226 ambulatories, 12000 beds (maximum certified number) and a heliport.
