The enlargement comprehended about 95.000 m2, so the final covered surface was of about 160.000 m2. The project has been realized with two enlarging bodies: on the north and on the south area of the terminal. The terminal itself has therefore remained the centre of the entire complex of passengers terminal, preserving the architectural image. The enlargement on the north part was destined to the new section for security vacuums and Schengen passengers, whereas the south part was destined to extra- Schengen passengers.
